JOHN SCANE

John Scane is an American artist born in Los Angeles California on April 6th, 1967. Growing up in the San Gabriel Valley, he has lived in or around southern California most of his life. After attending California State University at Long Beach, he began showing with several galleries in Los Angeles. His paintings have received a great deal of attention, and his work is in many private collections. He continues to exhibit in Los Angeles and around the country.

To paraphrase Marcel Duchamp, his work is the bride finally stripped bare by her bachelors. It is demystifying and mystifying all at once. His ultimate goal is to inspire a reinvigorated dialogue between artist, viewer and subject, ultimately leading to a heightened awareness not only of self and the surrounding world, but also of our place in that world.”
